Who is Bike & Brunch, Inc.?
Bike & Brunch, Inc. is a group of Jewish, mostly single, bicycle riders who enjoy
fun Sunday rides in the Washington DC-Baltimore area. In addition, we have an evening ride
during the mid-week..
Bike & Brunch rides from early April through late November for weekly local rides,
a spring and fall out-of-town weekend trip, and other special events.
Planned rides include favorite local destinations in
Maryland and Virginia including Poolesville, Frederick,
Olney, Sugarloaf, Thurmont, Leesburg, Manassas, Middleburg, and many more..
Benefits of Joining Bike & Brunch:
Membership. Once again
the dues for this membership year are $25. This money goes to help support
the administrative costs of running the group including maintaining the
web site and phone line, subsidizing various events, and a group insurance policy for all members. If you're
interested in becoming a member, click here.
Weekly rides. Rides begin
within an hour's drive of the metro area and range from 20 to 60 miles. Rides vary in
difficulty from easy jaunts through the relatively flat Rock Creek Park to challenging
courses such as the rolling hills of Poolesville, MD and Middleburg, VA. Rides are led by
experienced Bike & Brunch members who provide cue sheets. Afterwards, the group enjoys
brunch at a nearby eatery to make new friends and swap tales.
Weekend trips. In
1999,
more than 250 riders joined Bike & Brunch for trips to Salisbury,
Maryland on the eastern shore and for the fifth annual fall foliage tour at Deep
Creek Lake in beautiful western Maryland. In addition to rides ranging from 16-50
miles per day, the riders enjoyed barbecues, dancing, horseback riding, hiking, massages,
socializing and other great activities. Plans are in the works for
our next trip.
